Pro Bar Energy Foods Reviewed
The Need for Healthy and Simple Foods
As someone who travels a lot and doesn't have time at work to have a prepared meal, I am looking for something that tastes good and doesn't require refrigeration.
ProBar claims to be just that. A healthy alternative to more conventional foods that tastes good and provides all the nutrients one needs.
I will review some of their products here, show you what they look like, provide some nutritional 411 and give you a breakdown.
It's up to you to decide if ProBar is for you
According to the Company
The company claims:
Organic Energy Bar
The organic energy looks like a chunk of granola almost when you take it out of its package. There was a distinct sharp, but fresh aroma that was slightly reminiscent of oatmeal and honey.
I should mention that these foods are completely plant based which makes them vegan. That's a word that used to scare me, but now that I am becoming more health conscious, I recognize not everything has to taste like a hamburger.
The bar itself is pretty good, a soft consistency that you can break apart. It's able to keep in the package without refrigeration, so if you happen to be going on a long trip, or camping without an ice pack, this would be a good item to keep in mind.
Organic Energy Bar
Plus sides to this:
- It's tasty and convenient, you don't have to do any prep work.
- the item is portable
- satisfying - your appetite is quenched
- No sluggishness - you can get up and be active after eating.
Negatives
- It's not a hot pizza
- you probably could eat more than one
- it might be too healthy

Base Protein Bar

Base Protein Bar
These items come in a variety of flavor options and in many ways resemble a granola bar covered in a delicious substance like chocolate or frosted yogurt.
They are convenient and fairly tasty. They make a good healthy, in between meals snack or can serve as a quick lunch. They are definitely filling and one will leave you satisfied.
As someone who doesn't have much time to eat at work I would definitely consider these a convenience. They can easily fit into your briefcase or purse and you don't have to worry about refrigeration. If you are camping, a small stack of these will provide you enough to eat during a weekend.
The one downside is that they are a little healthy and taste that way. In no way are they like a pepperoni pizza or chocolate brownie ice cream.

Meal - Oatmeal Chocolate Chip
This almost seems like a larger version of the "Bite" bar.
Has the appearance and texture (almost) of granola. Flavorful, sweet without the excess sugar. These make great carry along to help curb hunger pains or provide nourishment when a meal is difficult to come by.
Some positives:
- convenient
- fresh tasting
- pleasant aroma and appearance
- satisfies an appetite
Some cons:
- sometimes contains peanuts - for potential allergens
- Small portions
- Carbs and Sodium
Overall a pretty good choice - even for a snack.
